Get Educated

Despite its diminutive size – or possibly because of it – Malta has one of the very best educational systems in Europe.

From the very beginning of the educational process all the way through to post-secondary learning, Malta has schools, colleges and institutions of the highest order.

Malta’s basic schooling needs are covered by three main types of education – private, Church or government. Private and Church schools teach in English which is a major advantage to foreigners who are looking to educate their children in Malta. There is also an American-style school for those who want to keep their children within that particular educational system.

The university, one of the oldest in Europe, is home to several thousand Maltese and international students and offers internationally recognised degrees in a vast selection of areas ranging from medicine and communications to architecture and diplomacy.

As you would imagine with Malta being such a prime tourist destination, the fields of tourism studies and leisure management also feature high on the agenda and there are several places which offer diplomas, certificates and degrees in this area.

Additionally Malta has MCAST, an arts, science and technology centre where students of a more practical and less academic nature can take courses ranging from design to building and from insurance to hair dressing.

And obviously there are many, many language schools on Malta with the country’s natural use of the English language making it one of Europe’s prime destinations for learning English as a foreign language.

In short, when it comes to education, Malta has it covered.
