A hired motor bike can get you anywhere within a span of no more than thirty minutes - the beach, the countryside, the popular bays, the hotels and restaurants, the Capital City of Valletta, the trendy towns of Sliema and St Julian's, the heaving nightspot of Paceville, the sports pavilions, the stadium, the gym, the historical places, the theatre, the cinema, the sleepy sister island of Gozo and the established venues of Maltese motor-bike sporting activities.
Hiring agencies provide you with the latest motor bike models as well as the paraphernalia that goes with them, including roadmaps and short-term insurance policies. The rates are cheap and the roads not so good but improving - certainly the right conditions for someone who would want to motor bike at leisure but still get in touch with the adventurous spirit within them.
Make sure you plan your daily motor bike sojourns. Malta may be small, but getting to grips with the roads, the inner-town and village streets and Maltese drivers' gesticulations could initially turn out to be somewhat complicated.
