Playmobil toys have been around since the early 70’s and while still being popular among children today, can also provide adults with some good old-fashioned nostalgia of fun times gone by. In Malta you’ll find the second largest Playmobil factory worldwide and it’s also the only one where you can actually see the production process taking place.
Additionally it also has a cafeteria, a large Playmobil shop, and a small Funpark where you can let the young ones loose and watch them play until they tire themselves out.
The classic Playmobil toys come in a large variety of themes including City Life, Rescue, Zoo, Pirates, Police, Knights, and Fairy Tale. Your children are bound to spend the day gazing in wonder at the colourful displays and this will surely turn out to be a highlight of the holiday as far as they’re concerned.
The factory is open seven days a week although if you are planning a visit, it might be best to give them a ring on (+356) 2224 2445 to see when tours of the factory are available. To get to the Playmobil Factory you’ll need to catch bus number 13 from Valletta and it will drop you off just outside the park. However if you have access to a car it would be even better. That way, as soon as you’re done with your visit you can just jet off to your next location.
As an alternative, you can complement your visit with some outdoor quality time for the entire family. The Playmobil Factory is situated in Ħal Far, one of Malta’s few open areas reserved for public leisure activities. It is here that many Maltese families come for a nice kick-around, a pleasant picnic, or some simple relaxation with a good book. Why not join them?
