Play the Lottery

We all dream of winning millions. That's a simple fact. Whether it is for a beach front house, a super fast car or a round-the-world-cruise, the very idea of being absolutely loaded with cash appeals to most humans on the planet.

Sadly, in Malta, that's not likely to happen as our variety of national lotteries don't reach that high. Unless, of course, you convert your winnings into some unfortunate weak currency but the drawbacks of having six billion yaks in your pocket probably outweigh the glamour of being a billionaire. Having said that there is still plenty of money to be scooped up in Malta and taking part in these games doesn't cost very much at all.

The most popular competition on the island is the Super 5 in which you get to pick five numbers between 1 and 42. A draw is then made every week with the jackpot going to any people who guessed all five numbers correctly and smaller prizes going to those who guessed four correct and those who guessed three correct.

You can check the results on-line so don't worry about missing out on your prize if you have to return home before the draw is made. You can buy your Super 5 tickets from a whole host of different vendors around the island with most towns and villages having their own lotto offices. So work out what numbers do it for you and have a flutter. You never know, it could be you walking away with loaded pockets.

Oh, by the way, please bear in mind that in Malta - just like everywhere else - it is illegal for anybody under 18 to gamble so don't bother trying!

Buying tickets for Malta’s various lotteries and games is very easy as there are lotto booths and shops located all around the island. Just pop into your nearest one and make it your lucky day!
